Brush Care: Make Twelve Brushes Last a Decade
Sofia Marchetti · August 19, 2026

Rinse rituals, soap schedules, and the drying mistake that ruins more brushes than paint ever does.
A good brush dies from neglect, not from mileage. Rinse the moment you pause, reshape the tip with your fingers, and dry brushes flat or tip-down — never standing in the jar.
Once a month, wash with gentle soap, condition the bristles, and retire your oldest round to mixing duty. Twelve cared-for brushes will outlive forty abused ones.
